For the last Futura in Chez Jacki and the last party before the closing party of the venue we are very pleased to welcome our special guest from Chi-town, Traxx.
His definition of Jakbeat includes many different styles like Classic House, 80s Electro, Hip Hop, EBM and Disco, all that seasoned with a strong dash of Acid. Generally there are no borders between the genres and sounds for Traxx, “Jakbeat” is a state of mind. He doesn’t like to be called a DJ, “Artist of Sound” is a more appropiate description, he says: “When I play, i express what I’m feeling at the moment.”
No wonder he sees himself in the tradition of godfathers like Ron Hardy or Larry Levan.
Support is provided by the Futura Crew members Estimulo and Makarov as well as Richard Zepezauer from NSYDE who will be giving their own version of a cultivated freak out between Chicago, Detroit and New
York.

Für die letzte Futura im Chez Jacki und die letzte Party vor der Abschiedsparty dort überhaupt freuen wir uns einen ganz besonderen Gast aus Chicago begrüßen zu dürfen. Jeder der sich in den letzten 10
Jahren ernsthaft mit der Chicago House Szene auseinandergesetzt hat, sollte zumindest schon mal von dem Jakmaster [sic!] Traxx aka Melvin Oliphant III und seinen Produktionen und legendären DJ Sets (z.B. bei
seiner Geburtstagsfeier im Tape diesen Sommer) gehört haben. Vor zwei Jahren hat er sein Debutalbum “Faith” auf seinem Label Nation veröffentlicht, eine Kollektion sehr klassischer und doch sehr eigenständiger und immer nach vorne gehender Jak Tracks. Zahllose Kollaborationen mit befreundeten Künstlern so wie Jamal Moss und Daryl Cura (als “Dirty Criminals”), Tadd Mullinix (als Saturn V) und James T. Cotton auf Labels wie Relief, M>O>S, Crème Organization und International Deejay Gigolo kommen noch dazu. Seine Definition von Jakbeat umfasst sowohl klassischen House als auch 80er Electro, Techno, Hip Hop, EBM und Disco, das ganze natürlich gewürzt mit jeder Menge Acid. Generell gibt es für Traxx keine Grenzen zwischen den Genres und Sounds, “Jakbeat” is a state of mind. DJ will er eigentlich gar nicht genannt werden,  “Artist of Sound” empfindet er als eine treffendere Bezeichnung und sagt:  “Wenn ich spiele, drücke ich das aus, was ich im Moment fühle.”
Da verwundert es kaum, dass er sich in der Tradition von Übervätern wie Ron Hardy und Larry Levan sieht.
