About N4YP:

“Born from the wake of the England riots in the summer of 2011, N4YP strives to become a focal point for motivation and progress.

The goal is fairly simple: provide support, knowledge, means, opportunity and empowerment to young people working to break into the media arts industries. Whether your interest lies in digital media, visual media, journalism, animation or any number of other things, N4YP will aim to provide you with resources to get you going.

A collaboration of volunteers bring their collective knowledge and experience to outline what to expect in the work place, what a worker’s rights are and what they should expect from contracts and within work spaces. And when these things don’t come together as they should, N4YP and its community will also be there with support and encouragement.

Young people can apply for a N4YP Generation Grant, which provides them with money raised from our events, the grant also gives the young person the opportunity to visit Europe and show what they have managed to achieve with the money. The project is here to help channel the frustration and anger of young people in London in a more positive direction, showing them how they can benefit from various action groups.

But N4YP will also become a buzz place: of creativity and networking and learning and motion. Sometimes things get really rough. Sometimes that can be channeled into something really great.

N4YP won’t be much without a host of contributors: submissions are always encouraged. Please see HOME for more details, and never hesitate to get in touch.

Check back frequently, subscribe to our feeds, write something for us – get involved!

Together, let’s shape progress through media.”

 More information on N4YP:

“We are bestowed the title of “the lost generation.” The time keepers of no future, in which our frustrations and our cries are reduced to mere whispers. To stand by in jaw dropping awe as our sense of self is generalized by those with position.

Wake up.

Be conscious of your position in society, if you don’t know, then educate yourself. You can only stand for something once you set aside ignorance, assumption and inner prejudices. Remember your mistakes, forget your excuses and accept yourself.

The ability to think and exercise your thoughts is a duty to be fulfilled, not only for yourself, but for those who came before you. They have faced the same childhood angst, teenage confusion and adult alienation, except we have a lot more where they had none.

Do not silence your ambitions with fear or the uncertainty of the present, you will find in yourself and others, a true voice that stands for equality and unity.

This is the mission of everyone in N4YP. This is the mission for the generation that has yet to stand.

Our goal is to celebrate the rise of talented young people, despite the inadequacy of their environments. To inspire and be inspired by those who are driven by their determination. To extend a hand and create opportunities.

We are not a lost generation, nor will we be one to forget.”

About the artists that play this evening:

* CONTIUM
is a duo, Bruno and Jonas. They perform subtle live-electronic music.

With synthesizers and drum machines, their sonic journey goes through atmospheric noise and ambient, up to bumping house and techno music.
BRUNO G. aka Bruno Contium aka Roomboy Robot was born in Rosario, Argentina, back in the 80s.

He has been actively involved in music from an early age on, taking piano and guitar lessons, and later, playing in different alternative rock bands, and giving a few piano concerts. He polished his music skills in University and studied sound engineering too. Influenced by local underground techno-house DJs, he started producing electronic music.
JONAS aka Flegsi aka Jay Onas was born in Altötting, Germany. As a child he took piano lessons before he switched to the drums and started to play live with different projects. At the beginning of this millennium, after exploring musical styles from classic music, to jazz, surf rock, hip hop, heavy metal and grind core, his lasting passion for electronic music emerged. In 2002 he moved to Argentina, where he studied arts and sound engineering.

In 2003 Bruno and Jonas met in Rosario, started programming beats together and gave birth to Contium. Over the following years many great musicians joined the project until a whole band was formed. The live band Contium played in festivals and gave many concerts back in Argentina. In parallel, Jonas and Bruno have also been playing as a DJ team (Contium DJ Set), and have been working in different recording studios and as live-sound engineers. They have also written and produced many original tracks.

They both moved to Berlin, Germany in 2009, where they reinvented Contium as a duo. Combining analogue and digital synthesizers, a drum machine and some computer programming, they play and mix techno and house music in real-time. In other words, a genuine live performance.
