It is really good to see that Berlin, against all “odds”, is still the birthplace for new projects – the scene is developing thanks to some people  who actually make a difference and bring a fresh breeze to the German capital.

At the moment, it is really quite interesting to see the movement of the younger artists – slowly emerging from the shadows of the big labels, they take action and “do their own thing” – whether it means a brand new artist collective by people you are not yet too intimidated by the established names and not yet formed firmly that they fit into the functioning, but sometimes boring “system”, or: a new label!

A brand new label that is releasing a vinyl pretty soon is ODD SOCKS.

The guys behind the label do not want to put their names out there. Other than other “established” artists, they push their music, above their names. Back to the basics, where MUSIC was the only thing that mattered? That is pretty cool.

Odd Socks is a new record label based in Berlin. Bringing together nuances of the eclectic tastes of its founders, the imprint has no predetermined borders or boundaries besides their aim to release great and interesting music. 

Labels in Berlin are like sand on the beach and they pop out from nowhere and vanish as quickly as they have emerged.

Somehow, ODD SOCKS seems to be different. Very interested in seeing this one grow.

Odd Socks’ debut release, the “Fresno EP”, comes from Josh T.

In Leeds, Josh co-founded the much loved clubnight Louche, which has now matured into one of the most influential parties in the UK. Josh’s love for sleazy Hip Hop and RnB shines through the Fresno EP, with these two perfectly matched down tempo treats.
