And I must say – Vadim Svoboda did a good job releasing on this label!
LumièresLaNuit (alias LLN) is a London-based French label dedicated to creating Minimal-Techno music and well-crafted products for DJs, music producers and casual listeners.
LLN MANIFESTO
LumièresLaNuit is originally inspired from the lights shining on Earth at night and the multiple emotions that come to people in the darkness such as happiness, fear or excitement. It is also a reference to the intellectual movement initiated in Europe during the XVIIIth century, “Les Lumières”.
At LumièresLaNuit we think there are a multitude of approaches to express yourself through electronic music and infinite ways to translate them emotionally, visually, and physically. We constantly try to identify new aesthetic codes as well as the true nature of artists and audience playing and listening to Minimal-Techno today.
We strongly believe in the interdependence of Arts and that the combination of Music and Design can lead to new frontiers. “A music label is more than a piece of vinyl, it is an endless exploration that can come from anywhere, anyone”.
LLN STORY
The company was started by two very close friends who share the same passion for the discovery of new cultures. One currently lives in Berlin where he gained experience in journalism and corporate communication with a focus on music and medias. The other has a background in Industrial Design and Design Management from India and is currently working and living in San Francisco.
The project was born in 2013 from their common desire of combining Music and Design.
LumièresLaNuit stands away from the clichés often assimilated to Techno music such as mixed pop colors or laserlights and takes a more purist and underground, yet unelitist approach.

CO-FOUNDERS
EDOUARD – THE AFICIONADO
Edouard is a young entrepreneur with a focus on Media and Music. He has a background in journalism as well as corporate communication. He wrote articles and interviews for Trax Magazine, stylistberlin.com and crazyjack.fr. Raised in Paris, it’s around nineteen that in despite of an anchored French culture Edouard moved to Berlin as he felt the Parisian lifestyle didn’t suit him anymore… His passion for the German language and desire to discover new things motivated his decision.
Edouard’s fascination for electronic music began at an early age. In 2013 he jumped-in and brought to life the project he had always envisioned. After five years in Germany, he now plans to move to London.
Edouard enjoys reading the newspaper, tweeting, or perusing vinyl stores and websites looking for the latest, most unique records.
ACHILLE – THE CREATIVE GURU
Achille is a French Designer and entrepreneur who loves to discover new countries and cultures. After living in Angola and France, Achille moved to India where he graduated from the International School of Design (ISD). Since 2012, he’s been working as an Industrial Designer in San Francisco for Ammunition, delivering products and experiences to Top 100 Fortune companies.
Achille is a sort of Creative guru who enjoys experimenting with new things. He has won several design awards and recognitions such as EDISON Gold award, IDEA finalist, SILMO finalist, amongst others. His work has been featured on multiple websites and magazines such as Wired, Vogue, and Forbes.
Typically, you can find Achille on his bike or roaming a flea market or ebay in search of well-crafted products and vintage bike parts.
PARTNERS, CONTRACTORS
ADELINE MAI – THE SMART EYE
Paris-based French photographer Adeline Mai graduated from the Gobelins (Paris). Thanks to her rapid growth and keen eye, she quickly began working for several well-known magazines including Technikart and Les Inrocks but also with the French fashion designer JC De Castelbajac. In recent years, she photographed famous figures, like French judoka Teddy Riner, English actor Ruppert Grint and French actress Ludivine Sagnier.
You can find Adeline at a good table in a vegan restaurant in Paris, or simply catching a glimpse of someone behind her camera.
AYMERIC PRUNIER – THE PROMISING
Aymeric is a close and childhood friend of LumièresLaNuit. He is currently studying photography in Berlin and has a background in Economy. Aymeric is in charge of video clips, teasers as well as commercial and event photography. He has a lot of interest for electronic music, his recent collaborations include the DJ and producer David K (Freak N Chic, Crosstown Rebels, Souvenirs), one of the oldest “dinosaurs” of the French scene.
You can find Aymeric chilling and working on his laptop, doing push ups or riding his bike around Berlin.

Because they all have a unique personality, culture and background we aim at preserving their project and vision intact. We use a collaborative process to ensure the Music stays connected to the visual and physical atmosphere we create.

ARTISTS
VADIM SVOBODA (Paris/FRANCE) – THE PURIST
A French artist was evident for the start of an authentic French label…
Vadim is a purist and a perfectionist. Already known for his production skills, he remains, above anything else, a musician who discovered the pleasure of music through his classical training as a pianist and with the influence of artists like Frédéric Chopin.
His references are: Aphex Twin, Motorbass, Ricardo Villalobos, Frédéric Chopin.
Vadim played in several clubs such as: Panorama Bar (Berlin), Club der Visionäre (Berlin), Rex Club (Paris), Showcase (Paris), Fabric (London), Basing House (London), HENK (Amsterdam).
You can find him hidden in his studio, jamming with Jow and Edith Progue at Downstairs (Paris) or listening to Frédéric Chopin at his place.
GASOMETRIC RUN (aka ROGER GERERSSEN) (Nijmegen/NETHERLANDS) – THE FRESHNESS
LumièresLaNuit loves the culture, creativity and discretion of the Northern countries. It is also a place of well-crafted products and music we enjoy.
Roger is one of the most active producers of the Dutch electronic underground scene. He is also the co-founder of Eshu label. As solo or as duo project (for instance with Ivano Tetelepta), he always stays true to himself and to the atmosphere he developed through his in deep techno and dub grooves influences.
His references are 90’s hip-hop and dub, Basic Channel, Jeff Mills, Steve O’Sullivan , Baby Ford, Thomas Melchior.
Roger played in several clubs such as: Studio 80 (Amsterdam), Grelle Forelle (Vienna), Rex Club (Paris), ARMA 17 (Moscow).

ARTWORKS COLLLECTION
“ IT’S ALL ABOUT PATTERNS ”
The artwork resonates with the simplicity and minimalism of the label. It is also a reference to the beat in electronic music and a commonly used word in the industry. Every repeated symbol has its own identity and shape. It also relates to the uniqueness of cultures and influences.
We believe that it is the most iconic approach to connect the artist, its influences, origins, cultures and music. Each artist and EP is unique and has a strong identity, including all artwork and symbols used in the pattern. Yet in the end, they all relate to each other and belong to a distinct collection.
