On 19 March 2012, Rusko (http://twitter.com/#!/ruskoofficial) seemed to be very upset about his upcoming album:
“Try and keep something under wraps for months and then the fucking label allows a full live stream. Congrats @maddecent it’s everywhere now”
He kept on expressing his rage against the label – whether it is a fake promotion idea or a real PR desaster, Rusko caught our attention, as the ranting did not stop, as apparently his tracks were exposed before the actual release date on 27th March 2012:
“U fcking useless numbsculls @maddecent all the hard work keeping it off radio, no djs, off YouTube, till release day was for nothing. Thanks”
“Cunts”
Knowing how long it takes sometimes to produce a real good album (read the Trickski interview on stylistberlin), it must have been a pain in the b*** to see a load of work vanishing into “nothing”:
“27th march I’m free. I might just put the album for free on my website to fuck em. I just want you guys to have it”
“I’m gonna post the fucking torrent links the day of release. No $ for u @maddecent”
“And il upload the cunting thing myself”
Apparently, mixmag, where his music stream was posted, took action and put the streams offline:
“The streams been taken down. Job 1 done. Job 2, I have to wait til I get back to the US. I may go to prison for job 2 ;@”
Trying to find traces of it on the internet, resulted in a stream to which stylistberlin has no access to:

“@Mixmag no messengers shot! U guys r just reppin – big up for that!”
All his tweets can be read in the screenshot below:
stylisberlin asked MadDecent about Rusko:
stylistberlin: “@maddecent before we spread the word, would you like to hand in a statement about @rusko?”
maddecent: “@stylistberlin yes – his album is out worldwide march 26. Thanks”
Mixmag has not yet replied to our questions.
We love mixmag, and Mad Decent is a respectful label, as Rusko is loved by many – we hope that it all was just a very unfortunate misunderstanding or a rather brilliant/tasteless PR movement.
Anyhow, Rusko is everywhere on the internet at the moment.
We would say: WIN.
