Eats Everything, which I got to know through my favourite crew in SF – dirtybird (EE was former Coat of Arms with Chris James) + NRK’s Nick Harris have lauched their new label “Edible Records” in Bristol last November, with an digitally and on 10″-vinyl released EP by Lord Leopard. Now, Edible 002 is out with a strong release by Lauren Lane, and is a 123 bpm bomb!

About Lauren Lane?

“Lauren Lane is an LA based artist who cut her teeth as a DJ on the New York house scene. In 2015 she’s played some of the world’s best clubs and festivals such as DC-10, Warung, Coachella, The BPM Festival, Decibel and Rio Music Conference to mention a few. Throughout her career she’s DJed regularly with some of the most talented and distinguished artists in the industry. She released her debut EP ‘Cool Kids’ on Nic Fanciuilli’s Saved Records. ‘Cool Kids’ was the best selling track on Saved Records in 2014 and a new remix by Nic Faniculli and Butch was released in June 2015. Look out for Lauren’s next EP ‘Diary of a Madwoman’ coming out on Eat’s Everything’s new label, Edible in early 2016.” (via RA)

Track list:

1. Diary of a Madwoman: You can hear WHY Lauren Lane is on Edible – the sound just matches the releases by the ehad honchos and is an easy-going opening track for every hot set.

2. The right kind of weird: Favourite track of the EP – it’s the right kind of bumpy and has a strong rhythm that can will rock the dancefloor! Check out the whole track:

3. FOMO: This seems to be one of the easier tracks produced – playing with elements of vocal snippets and loops, repeating sequences and the usual beat. “Fear of missing out” aka FOMO? Weakest track of the EP.

Opinion: “Diary of a madwoman” fulfills all expectations – both the high standards we expect from Eats Everything and Nick Harris, as well as of Lauren Lane. Based on her releases so far, we can anticipate her future releases – another very valuable edition to the electronic music scene, another very good export from NY to the world.

Verdict: Four our of five stars.
