Dear stylistberlin readers,

on 05.03.2014, an email adressed to stylistberlin by OneCoinForLife arrived inbox. Luciano, one of the founders of CADENZA records, wrote some lines:
Dear friends, DJs and fellow world-traveling Artists,

I’m writing this e-mail to introduce you to a very special project my wife Francisca, my sister Amélie and myself are working on and planning for this year and the time ahead.

One Coin For Life was established on the belief that the Electronic Music industry is in a unique position to help others, and through it we want to harness the collective power of our scene and channel its unique assets and strengths to raise awareness and funds for causes that will have a deeply positive and long lasting impact on communities around the world.

We currently have a connection with the Arhuaco and Kogi tribes in Colombia: their philosophy has been the main inspiration behind our foundation since my family and I spent time with them in April 2012. They help the most vulnerable indigenous populations, while at the same time running reforestation, health, training and nutrition programs and building schools around our beautiful Earth. We paid a visit to Moroto in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta region in January and we could proudly see the first step of our project take form and develop into something concrete and beautiful.

We want to retain a direct contact and relationship with the people we raise funds for by overseeing all the process ourselves. We want to get real results and make beautiful ideas come true.

Our next project involves developing our relationship with the Vipingo Village in Kenya – a small, family run charity that helps some of the many AIDS affected orphan children in the poverty stricken area 40 km North of Mombasa. We can’t wait to work for this!!

Donations for this first venture have already been collected from friends of Cadenza and from some of our colleagues we’re lucky to collaborate with.

We now hope to receive more support from other institutions and DJs. Our fans play a big role in this, too: everyone of them will participate in this simply by attending our shows and parties. We plan on raising funds also by involving the promoters and the industry workers, as well as having one-off donations from guest lists.

We would love to have you as active participants of this unique endeavor, and we believe that all of us together can make a change. We know that DJs have the power to reach out to a whole generation of young people and speak to them in a unique way they understand.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Luciano.

Good to see that some fellas make a difference by doing good stuff; had to think a lot about Jay Haze and his contributions to society. Hopefully, loads of people will follow the steps.

“I’m very proud to share with all of you this amazing project myself and my team have been working on over the last months. Our foundation One Coin For Life was established on the belief that the Electronic Music industry is in a unique position to help others, and through it we want to create a collective organization within our scene that will give all DJs, promoters and clubs the tools to raise funds and get involved with social causes for charities across the globe that positively impact lives, communities and the environment, using our power as world traveling artists to motivate the younger generations.

This also is to thank all of you dear fans who came to our partys around the world ! You are supporting the foundation each time you come and dance with us !! So this is also thanks to all of you !

This pictures were taken in Moroto (Colombia), where we currently have a connection with the Arhuacos and Kogis Tribe: their philosophy has been the main inspiration behind One Coin For Life since my family and I spent time with them in April 2012. A long term relation has established between them and us. Their main aim isto raise awareness of the need to care for Mother Earth and to promote social consciousness. They help the most vulnerable indigenous populations, while at the same time running reforestation, health, training, nutrition programs and building schools around our beautiful earth .

This is the first step in our project, and it’s been made possible thanks to donations from some of our partners: Cadenza, Aether, Cocoricò, Il Muretto,Guendalina, Memento Records and Fabrizio Maurizi, and from me and my great friend Idriss Dib.

It feels so special to have met all these incredible people, who are a true blessing and a guidance for myself as a human being. It’s one of my biggest achievements so far, and I’m happy to see all our dedication and commitment bring to life some outstanding results.

I want to thank from the deepest of my hearth my sister Mamo Menjabin Luis Izquierdo and Sara Luis Izquierdo, foundation fundamarin Amelie for all her support and hard work, and my wife Francisca for being the tree of all of us during this period off hard work . Also Juan Gavilà and Santiago Higuera , and Antonio De Larua for making me discover It.”
