We just came back from the first The Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble show in Germany – at no other place than our beloved Berghain – it was packed and the crowd loved them – so good to see that house and techno beats are made into such great live music! (We adored the harp <3) Looks as if TBBFE will take Berlin to some new direction :) Refreshingly different, they will definitely rock the music scene from now on even more…!
Oh yeah, the made to play party on that Friday night deserves to be mentioned. The UK team Zombie Disco Squad opened the night, followed by The Martin Brothers (yes! both! Martins! were! there!) – which would have been sufficient to deliver a helluva party- Jesse Rose himself and Swedish talent Axel Bomann completed the line-up and made it to one of the best shows of 2011 so far. Too bad if you missed it, you will have to wait till July for the next gig I guess, Mr. Rose has moved to the States now and the Martin brothers might return to Berlin even later in the fall… (BTW, HOMEWORK will be back in town by then as well, so stay tuned)
Tomorrow, the new label Semester Musik will have a record release party at Maria with label owner Nhan Solo, Daniel Dexter (watch out for his latest release with a remix by Fritz Zander&Martin Dawson!), David Keno, and young talent Julian Haffner. Highgrade&stil vor talent&get physical will be presented with artists, and Nordic by Nature will be playing, too!
AND all time favourite Berlin-based band Sir Simon Battle is having their record release party at the Ramones Museum on Saturday eve, 19h – followed by a nationwide tour! BE THERE! Live music is still alive :)
