Bridges for Music is a non-profit organization aiming for a responsible development of electronic music in developing countries, leaving a positive impact in disadvantaged communities and raising awarenes
s about local issues through music.
In February 2013 Richie Hawtin joined it for his first South African tour. Alongside South Africa house icon Black Coffee they launched various workshops and free events in the townships of Langa (Cape
Town) and Soweto (Johannesburg).
These ‘” township ” areas are infamous legacies of the apartheid segregation and still represent a day to day struggle for the majority of its population. But music is becoming a driving force for development and a great tool to break down socio-economic boundaries.
Special thanks to Red Bull Studio for their support.
