24Feb 2012: Pets Recordings Labelnight at Watergate

0 Comments 25 February 2012

Above all, thanks to WATERGATE (one of the crew especially) to have made this possible! I.O.U.

I arrived – again :( sorryyyyy – too late for Martin Dawson’s live set, who released one of my favourite tunes “Think about it (Maceo Plex RMX)” on Pets…

Eats Everything, a favourite of stylistberlin even before the “Entrance Song” was hitting all the clubs around the world and picked as one tune of 2011 by mixmag (UK) – alongside Oliver $, Joe Goddard (who is playing tonite at the  Greco-Roman party in Berlin), Julio Bashmore, Azari & III (Hello at this place  to my homie JE in Amsterdam), was in Berlin again – and the set was … merely “dope”. Wow. Too much info for a sentence.

The Waterfloor was packed with people and the vibes were great – Eats Everything is someone you would call a “Rampensau” in German, which means “stage hog” in English, I think. He interacted a lot with the crowd and they loved him! A DJ who has fun playing, rocking the crowd, making jokes with his fellow colleagues, having the manner to response to people standing in front of him and going crazy (in a good way) – you cannot but just adore this guy!

Meanwhile, the Pets Recordings crew was showing what an amazing team it was: I cannot remember having seen someone having so much fun hosting a party – if there had been prices for dancing, Pets Rec. label head Wojciech would have won all of them :D – too bad if you missed his amazing steps and moves! Zoo Project’s one and only female DJ Karina was a delight to watch as well and all in all the music made everyone SMILE.

I don’t bing photographs of the artists unless I need them for an interview or story, so my first personal encounter with Catz n’Dogz was really funny – I fell in love with them immediately, because they were the most “likeable” persons around (you guys are great <3)

Well, and then lady J.Phlip started. When J.Phlip, freshly back from SF kicked off her set around 6am, the rest came downstairs and partied on and on and on… At the moment, she is my favourite female producer / DJ, and for others as well, her fans came up to me to tell her that she was absolutely fabulous (and even played a better set than BPitch Control head honcho and living legend Ellen Alien).

The biggest credit she gets for playing with a helluva flu – it was really impressing how much she gave and how well she mixed nevertheless, so that the crowd was blowing over kisses to her.

It was pretty much daytime when I left the club, because my heels were the wrong decision and I had to prepare the next things for today and the video shooting tmrw… :(

Usually, I would not say that, but Watergate, two nights in a row was a blast.

THANKS for the doormen&women and especially thanks to the Watergate crew ANGEL who organized two Paracetamol pills and the drink tickets for J.Phlip – that was professional! THANK YOU, DEAREST!

Catz n’Dogz guys, David, Karina, Martin Dawson, J.Phlip, Eats Everything… You rocked Watergate! They must be very proud to have you.

So, guys, that was it – be prepared for tonite, DJ NIBC from Trunkfunk Records is rocking Mein Haus am See, CMYK is playing at An einem Sonntag im August and there is the Stattbar opening and Greco-Roman night at Stattbad Wedding, Party Arty at Ritter Butzke and New Horizons at Prince Charles!

Have fun!
