Berlin Fashionweek Special: SHOW0711 / Edged Showroom Grand Opening

0 Comments 06 July 2011

My currently favourite musicians BrandtBrauerFrick had another gig in Berlin before they were flying out of the country playing “somewhere else” again (gosh, these guys have this year already a crazy touring schedule behind them – and apparently also ahead) and Harry Chestwig, an acquaintance, happened to perform at the same BBB event, so stylistberlin got some accreditations and we went there.
Right at the beginning, I ran into the label owner of Scandinavian brand “Sca Ulven”: chic, modern designs and is actually “wearable”. They describe it as:

“SCA ULVEN is the eponymous brand of designers Sara C. Andersson and Marte Ulven. Based in Oslo Norway, they have close ties with both Sweden and Denmark, and are always inspired by Scandinavian influences.”

I just thought ABSOLUTELY LOVELY.
Too long I have been away from writing (yes, don’t forget I used to be a  fashion editor of a magazine…) / blogging about what’s new on the market. Sorry, music IS my life and I digged a bit more to what I love…
Maybe YOU are interested in the show:

So much to the impressions of the participating brands ;) I think the last time I was at Arena / Glashaus besides yesterday at the 4711 event was at AMAM Label night with Todd Bodine and Alessio Mereu, so for the nostalgia, here the bar, which I like very much, because it’s long and you get your drinks right away:

Finally, here are some impressions of BrandtBrauerFrick, which played live and managed – despite of the unfortunate event-planning (no fashion show, just a stage and at the end of it, the DJ table, gears and the instruments) – to rock the crowd, which loudly asked for encore.
After seeing them DJing at My name is Barbarella and with the whole ensemble featuring Emika at their Germany-debut at Berghain in May, it was the first time I saw them perform live (yeah, missed their gig at Haus der Kulturen der Welt unfortunately)
Loved the performance and was once again impressed about Daniel Brandt’s percussion skills and the harmony of the three of them playing together – Paul Frick, that was the best decision you could make when you started this all!

After a while, they got the crowd dancing on the runway ;)
… which was afterwards occupied by Harry Chestwig & lady…

… and ended quite steamy ;)

The team left the opening party before the last gig – it could have been a bit more PR, maybe combined with a show or BBF and HC on the big stage – that, for whatever reason was behind curtains. Fixing the accreditation problems via email, being more prepared, maybe the next GRAND OPENING will be really grand. At least the brands looked promising and we were just very very happy to have seen BrandtBrauerFrick live on stage, and for that, the cab to Arena was worth every cent.
Looking forward to SCA ULVEN’s future now, seemed to be the designs for NOW.
