Guillermo Aguilar-Huerta “Kreuzworträtsel” + “Universal” presented by stylistberlin

Born in Monterrey, Mexico, Guillermo Aguilar-Huerta has been living and working in Berlin since 2007.

He places his work into the discourse that exists between fashion, industrial design and concrete forms. In his artwork, geometrical abstractions dominate with a variety of exotic color combinations, which are derived from universal and traditional Mexican patterns.

He works especially with geometry, since this is an endless way to create unique shapes that describe different cultures; as well as with architecture, our technological advancement and how all these factors combined influence our modern society.

His compositions are clearly determined by the mixture of both, his own and universal pattern creations which are adapted to individual geometrical shapes. They reflect his point of view about life in all its diversity and dynamism.

For the Stattbad Gallery he is presenting several pieces from his projects “Kreuzworträtsel” and “Universal”.

Project 1 : Kreuzworträtsel
In this project, several palettes will hang on the walls in the form of a crossword puzzle.

Project 2 : Universal
Universal includes different wall installations which simulate the constellations of galaxies. For example “Alfa One” is going to express a picture of Orion and the Galaxy.

Guillermo Aguilar-Huerta “Kreuzworträtsel” + “Universal” präsentiert von stylistberlin

Der aus Monterrey (Mexiko) stammende Künstler Guillermo Aguilar-Huerta lebt und arbeitet seit 2007 in Berlin.

In seinen arbeiten stellt er Mode, Industrie Design sowie konkrete Formen in Relation zueinander und visualisiert somit das bestehende Spannungsfeld zwischen diesen Gestaltungsbereichen. In seinen Werken dominieren geometrische Abstraktionen mit einer ausdrucksstarken Farbvielfalt, die sich aus typischen, traditionell-mexikanischen Mustern ableiten.

Er nutzt dabei die geometrische Abstraktion als Werkzeug, um die unendlichen Formen der modernen Gesellschaft in ihrer Heterogenität zu dokumentieren. Die Kompositionen sind durch klare, reduzierte, von der Geometrie inspirierte, Muster bestimmt, die er mittels gegenständlicher Aussagen zu einem Gesamtkunstwerk verbindet.

Für die Stattbad Galerie stellt er verschiedene Werke seiner Projekte “Kreuzworträtsel” und “Universal” zur Schau.

Projekt 1 : Kreuzworträtsel
In diesem Projekt werden Paletten in Form eines Kreuzworträtsels angeordnet.

Projekt 2 : Universal
Universal enthält verschiedene Wandinstallationen, welche Sternenkonstellationen und Galaxien simulieren.
