Some Words with Master-H:

Over the past decade you made some of the more inspirational and influential house trax. Lately it’s been more quiet. What have you been up to lately?

Well after My first Album on Soma records on collaboration with Andy Gillespie (2003) which was a wonderful experience…And after releasing EP’s on Vega Records, FCom (2006) and Urbantorque (2007) with Francois Dubois….I thought that was time to create my own imprint and I decided to launch KOMPLEX DE DEEP (2008) but I wanted to make it in the right way so it took time I can say…Now I am more comfortable as everything is setup in the Studio,Company etc…then I’m more productive!

Do you still collaborate or are you enjoying working alone?

I’ve often collaborated with huge talent like Funk D’Void ,Andy Gillespie, Simple Minds’ keyboardist, that allowd me to improve my skills and make who I am today music wise. So now it’s a kind of rebirth making music on my own, doing remix for others labels like Darkroom Dub ‘Alex Kid’ (Stargard EP), Soma (Magic K Rmx), Composite Alain Ho(Je pense à toi EP), Room with A View ‘Andrée Lodeman'(Your Choice)…and production on my own label for other artist like Alice Orpheus or Geoffrey Secco both amazing Musicians!

How much focus do you give running your dope label ‘Komplex De Deep’?

Running this label is a full time Job but I love it I couldn’t complain…So that’s my new life DJ/producer and now Label manager…That gave me the opportunity to discover young Artist like M A N I K releasing a wonderful album on OVUM now, Ifume from Japan,Producing EP’s for Alice Orpheus the third one will be release in June,nd also signing confirmed talent I’ve joined to make the KDD identity like Aubrey, Chymera, Francois Dubois, Matthias Vogt, Greg Oreck.

As someone who toured the world top to bottom what are some of your favorite spots to play and will we be able to hear you play in Berlin in the near future?

Well the place I love to play is Glasgow as you are never disappointed with playing for Pressure and I’m playing in June at Rockness festival for the Soma 20th birthday…but I remember playing at Fabric as well, Cielo back in the days, the Rex Paris indeed…Now I’ve got a residency in this very dirty tiny Club that I really like here in Paris called Chez Moune and I’ll play there with my man Dairmount RWAW June the 25th…apart of that I’m also enjoying a lot doing a monthly KOMPLEX DE DEEP radio show every last Saturday for Sweat Lodge radio in this city called Berlin where I’ve never play….But i might come who knows…Time for me to find a good booking agent I guess:)

Please tell our readers about your up coming releases and what we can expect from Master-H in the near future?

In the near future I’m focusing on releasing my new EP feat Alice Orpheus on KDD with amazing remixes from Dairmount & Berardi, another killer EP from AUBREY soon and I’m also remixing a Barck & Christian Prommer’s track from their delicious new album on Gigolo….we will present a KDD Compilation in September as well for the third birthday already.
