BOP, the music video that got nominated for various awards, that actually won several, is probably the first track that comes into your mind when you hear “Brandt Brauer Frick”:
You make me real, the first album of Brandt Brauer Frick was refreshingly different – they made fusion music, combining minimal electro techno with live elements. They made their name famous for amazing live performances, and this year, they have played at almost every single festival on this earth.
It was just yesterday the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble had their new Germany debut at Berghain this spring with Emika on the mic, performing in front of a great audience who had somehow already smelled the grand spirit of music of the BBFE.

Having a gig every weekend in another country, the guys were hard to catch in Berlin except for the BBB Fashionwek madness (The Edged Showroom opening) or Haus der Kulturen der Welt lately. They were rather seen on international tv performing “606´n´Rock´n´Roll” by James Braun (The Gym).

Here is the original version by James Braun from Copenhagen, that is going to be released later this year:
Paul Frick was officially last seen by stylistberlin at katerholzig at Beaner´s event, Jan Brauer is always keeping a low key profile and Daniel Brandt was busy like hell – actually those three guys were finishing their next great project while flying across the whole continent: Their second album, “Mr. Machine”!
Daniel, Jan and Paul expanded BBF to BBFE, the Brandt Brauer Frick Ensemble, featuring jazz and classical music artists for their 10-piece ensemble who worked at Kaleidoskop, Formelwesen, Adapter and Ensemble Modern. To the trio, violin, cello, harp, piano, trombone, tuba, timpani, marimba, vibraphone, live drums, percussion and a Moog was added, which took the sounds to an entirely different space. Emika, you see nowadays very often on Berlin´s walls, the producer and singer joined the BBFE for the track “Pretend”:
Five “very long and intense” days and the second album was recorded. And the outcome is a whole new thing:
“On You Make Me Real, we still used some effects and more synths, whereas Mr Machine is completely unplugged, except for the Moog synth, which is amplified through a bass guitar amp,” says Paul Frick. “You Make Me Real was still ‘produced.’ On Mr. Machine there’s nothing like that at all.” (RA)
Most of the songs are acoustic remakes, one track is new – this album will take you to a journey filling your ears with delightful tunes.
